Wet'n'Wild Runway Show
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xjhnqFeZ228
Body Haven is a club at Columbia College Chicago that focuses on Body Positivity and Fat Liberation. Every year we put on a size-inclusive fashion show, themed in a way of reclamation. The first year it was Y2K, the second it was Classic Hollywood, and now in our third year our theme is Summer Vacation. So often we are told what we are allowed to wear during vacation, by other people, by media, even by ourselves. So we at Body Haven wish to reclaim that idea and tell you that this year, wear whatever the hell you want!

My role in the event started in development, coming up with the concept and budgeting for it. Designing the outlines in terms of decor, and logistics, hiring all personnel etc.

The show was covered by the Columbia Chronicle :

Freak Like Me: Runway Show
This event was a fundraising event for Body Haven. It is also a Runway and fashion celebration of all bodies. Y2K Fashion is being reimagined to fit all. With the exclusivity of the Fashion industry I wanted to create an event that put a pure celebration of differences on display. Attendees were also be able to walk around an exhibitional space, looking at artwork, taking photos, seeing other fashionable designs etc. There were four designers who each created three looks. They were told to create those looks with the only guideline being that it fit the model and it was on theme. In exchange for the three looks, they were given a six foot table and two mannequins. They had the opportunity to display previous works, portfolios, business cards etc. as a way to network for themselves. Chicago Meets Columbia
This was an event put on by myself and the Student Programing Board at Columbia College Chicago. The event's goal was to showcase the culture of Chicago and how it pertained to our college. Included was a panel of professors, industry professionals, and active students. Speaking on their experiences and how the city has influenced their careers. There was also a DJ Battle displaying the different kinds of music coming out of Chicago such as: Juke, House etc.

My role in the event was to coordinate with the clubs at Columbia College Chicago for their exposition table. This table was a way for them to showcase their club and how it relates back to the culture of Chicago.
Filmed in Cinemascope: Runway Show
For Body Haven's second annual Fashion Show, the theme was "Old Hollywood". Body Haven reclaimed Classic Hollywood where only one kind of body was seen as beautiful. Actress such as Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor or Katharine Hepburn who were gorgeous women, but that was the standard. Attendees were also be able to walk around an exhibitional space, looking at artwork, taking photos, seeing other fashionable designs etc. There were three designers and 2 stylists who each created three to six looks. They were told to create those looks with the only guideline being that it fit the model and it was on theme. In exchange for the three looks, they were given a six foot table and two mannequins. They had the opportunity to display previous works, portfolios, business cards etc. as a way to network for themselves.
